Act 2

Star Crossed Lovers

Prompt A:
In Act 2, Romeo finds Juliet in her room above the garden, and he hears her talking about how much she loves him. Eventually she finds out that he has been listening, and the two find they have a mutual attraction, which they proclaim as love. Juliet sends her nurse to deliver a message to Romeo that she loves him, so he knows her love is certain. Romeo goes to the church to ask the friar to arrange his and Juliet's marriage. He then tells the nurse to tell Juliet his plan, and the nurse travels to Juliet carrying instructions. The nurse instructs that Juliet will go to the church to supposedly perform her religious duties (confession), but instead be wed with Romeo by the friar, and run away to live happily together.

Prompt E;

I chose this picture because in Act 2, Romeo basically proposes to Juliet for them to be married. While he presents no ring to her, he gives her his love and devises a way to be married in secret, so the two can be together.
