Scene 4: The Potion that Changes Everything


Prompt A

Juliet goes to Friar Lawrence for advice. However, Count Paris is there. Friar tries to negotiate things with Paris about the wedding that was going to happen and not show any of the evidence. After Paris leaves, Juliet takes out a knife and talks about how she rather kill herself than marry Count Paris. After saying that, the Friar gives Juliet a sleeping potion that will put her in a deathlike sleep for a while and promises to send a messenger to inform Romeo about the plan. Juliet than sits at her bed wondering if the potion works. Finally, she takes it.
