5) How about the Montagues?

  1. I don't think Juliet and Paris have met yet. He probably comes from a wealthy family like the Capulets and has some sort of power. His family probably doesn't like the Montagues too much because he likes the Capulets who do not like the Montagues. How ever I don't think that there is as much rivalry between his family and the Montagues as there are between the Capulets and the Montagues themselves.

  2. Paris is the Prince's, Escalus, kinsman, and is Juliet's suitor. Paris and Romeo have not met yet, but Juliet is encouraged to forget about Romeo and wed Paris.

  3. I agree with what Elodie is saying. I don't think Paris and Juliet have met and that he assumes that she will say yes knowing that he is probably wealthy. I'm pretty sure that parties and gathering are common for the Capulets because they come from a wealthy family and they have the space to invite everyone in to their home to host a ball.
